Medical Topics is a discussion group led by Vincent Marks on topics relating to health that have figured prominently in the media during the previous week or so. Vincent introduces the topics and then throws them open to discussion: interruptions are not only welcomed but encouraged. Subjects range from organisation of the NHS nationally and locally to what to do about infant colic or advances in cancer therapy.

The group meets every third Thursday of the month at 10.30am in Haslemere Hall. There are no restrictions on attendance – there is room for all whether registered with the group or not.

The future of Haslemere Hospital

A full house attended the 'Have Your Say on the future of Haslemere Hospital' meeting on 21st October in Haslemere Hall. Speakers included a local doctor, the medical director of the Royal Surrey County Hospital Foundation, the chairman of the (to be disbanded in 2013) PCT and the CEO of Surrey Community Health. After the speakers had their say Professor Vincent Marks led the discussion when members of the audience were able to ask many pertinent questions. Click here for a full report.
